Water has many benefits, but today we see why you should drink water to lose weight. When it comes to weight loss, we look for calorie-free substitutes to have them without any guilt. The first word which instantly comes to my mind is water. It is 100% calorie-free, and apart from being calorie-free, it is healthy and has got many benefits.
We are very much into the habits of eating or drinking something. We mostly prefer tea, coffee, or some aerated drinks that have their benefits, but too much of them can be harmful. So instead of taking too much caffeine or sugary drinks, we can sip on some water.
First of all, it is calorie-free and most important it also helps you burn more calories, known as resting energy expenditure. The more you drink water, the more you burn calories, so carry water always with you no matter where you go or what you are doing.
When To Drink Water
It is said that if you drink water before meals, you feel much fuller and eat lesser. Though it is not advisable to have foods along with the water, have a couple of glasses of water before half an hour or after half an hour of your meal. When you take water before meals, you end up eating less, which gradually cuts down on your calories and ultimately helps you lose weight. Also, having water before sleep is a good idea as it keeps your heart healthy, and the more water you take, the more toxins you can flush out from your body in the form of sweat and urine.
It does not mean that you will have to drink water throughout the day. Try to have 8 -10 glasses of water or 2-3 liters in a day. If you cannot have plain water, you could add some lemon to it, or maybe you could also make infused water which also has many benefits. Apart from helping in weight loss, water also enables you to get much healthier skin and hair.
Increase Your Water Intake To Lose Weight
Replace all sugary and aerated drinks with water, and you could quickly notice the results in a month or so. While water is necessary to get rid of water retention, it is also said that too much water can cause water toxicity which again is harmful. To drink water all through the day but don’t drink too much for the sake of weight loss.
Our kids learn from us as they notice most of our actions. If we drink too much artificial sugary drinks, they will do the same, and it can result in kids being obese, which is a common sight nowadays so if we sip the water they would learn the same good thing so, in that way, water also helps your children 🙂
So next time when you go out, instead of wasting your money on other drinks, have a glass of water. Much cheaper and healthier.
